As already stated Festae have the smaller eye spot on the tail and it is not centered like a mayan. Also, festae have the "y" bar towards the head too.

There is a true festae at my LFS. I would literally trade is all of my fish to get a true festae. What are some signs I need to look for before I buy it that would prove that it is actually a true festae? Thanks

Nope not a festae, the festae was sold this morning. They didn't move the name from the tank. :-(
