I'm new to SA cichlids and planning to get some geo redhead tapajos. My question is: Whats a true redhead tapajos? Is there such a thing?
One Vendor said he can get TRUE redhead tapajos. Is there a difference between this true redhead tapajos and other wild caught tapajos other vendors are selling? Any help would be appreciated

He was probably referring to Geophagus "araquaia orange head", a very similar fish from a different river. Just to eliminate confusion red/orange head are the same.

Is this fish worth double the price of other wild caught redhead tapajos?
Vendor A says the true redhead tapajos is $60each at 4-4.5", other Vendors on here are selling F0 redhead tapajos for $28each at 3-4". Is it worth it???

Is a F0 True redhead tapajos worth the $60each price tag compared to other F0 redhead tapajos at $28each???

Like I said, they are the same fish. Calling something True redheads makes them nothing more then redheads. It's the same as me saying I have a true black Molly, does that make my black molly worth $8 instead of a black molly for $4 that doesn't say true in front of it?

They are the same fish.

before you know it, people are going to see double true redheads and triple true redheads and supertrue redheads....

just figure out what species you want, then get it from a reputable source....how much something is worth depends a lot on you.

Since this is my first time with SA cichlids i wasn't sure if there was a difference between a true redhead and a regular redhead. I know for alot of fishes that sellers will come up with a name to make it sound better, then sell it for a higher price. Thanks for answering my question. It helped alot. I'm gonna go with some redheads from Rapps or Rich at Infinite Aquatics, their price is pretty reasonable.
Thanks for all the help....:grinno:
