Coelacanths are the only living animals to have a fully functional intercranial joint, which is a division separating the ear and brain from the nasal organs and eye.
Just read that off the article. What the hell does that mean? English anyone?

Cool.. I wonder if the same techniques that they use to try to keep squid alive would work with a coelcanth..

there in seprate bone casings sorta, there's a joint in it's head, to allow it to open it's mouth wider while feeding. sounds wierd, but i guess it's been working for a while.
