ive sorta always thought that they did to a certain point. but i thought id ask if anyone knew if it was true or not?

That's not true at all.
If they're in an environment that is too small, they may become stunted, but that isn't natural growth in any way.

everything the others said is true and I would have to agree 100% that your shop guy don't know jack about what is correct or safe for anything that will be growing in an aquairium . For your friends safty I would recomend that you find another pet store.
i would be that shop is the only shop with in 50 miles that sells good fish and different species. all the other shops sell guppies and goldfish barbs that sorta thing, this shop sells plecos whiptails eels sharks shrimp ect... so yeh ill just ask you guys for info instead of that jerk weed then. you guys are so helpful and informative. thanks.
