Is it true if u have feeders in a saltwater tank it will keep them healtier?? I was just curious some kid at the lfs told me this!!

what kind of feeders........ guppys?

I think he was trying to say that adding salt to a tank that has feeders in it makes them healthier as salt usually takes care of many diseases and parasites. That is true, and raising temperature to about 82F helps too.

Full salt? That is ridicilous.

Salt and high temp is really limited in the types of maladies it could cure.
But it wouldnt hurt to put salt in a feeder tank , worse case at least you
have an effective cure for ich.

Youd be out of luck if the feeders carried parasites or other disease that salt
cant cure.

it depends on how much salt he was talking about

Actually you can convert mollies to complete salt.....I've done it several times...takes a few hours...but its doable...it seems a bit harder converting them back....make great feeders though! :D
