I thought it stood a high chance of dying. The injured piraiba has proved me wrong so far. Even feeds now.

The one attacked by the paroons died. 28-30 inches. Bought in Oct 2023 at 3 inches, so 2.5yo.
4 losses of big piraiba.
5ft suriname to jumping out.
2.5ft Peru to thiaminase.
3ft Peru to changing tanks inhouse.
2.5ft Brazil to paroon attack.

Receives 3 light, test tasting bites over first night but feeds on day 1 exceeding expectations.

Has been healing the first day bites. No new bites.

There have been no new bites or damage on the newcomer piraiba. It's been ~ one month now. Feeds cautiously now and then still though:

Another case of the simple-move-induced SDS by piraiba from YT:

Fish-Story: Sorry to hear. How old and big was the piraiba? Was it pre-stressed before the tank swap? How many times had it been moved before this last move and how much time passed between the moves?

gr4s5h0pp3r6: Not have been pre stressed no reason to be i had him for about a year he was just under 2ft and i moved him once before that and that was around 8months ago when he was like 3-5inches in to a larger tank had him in a 75 qt upon getting him, then moved to a 300 for a while and i moved him to a 2000 gallon
