True piraiba aka Brachyplatystoma filamentosum

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
We lost the 3ft Peru piraiba due to excessive nervousness of this fish. Two rehomings separated by half a year have been too much for it to handle. It seems to be a trait of Brachyplatystoma.

After 5 months in the 4500 the domination of one of the Brazil piraiba over the other intensifies beyond acceptable:

Only lasted 4 days in the 4500g. Cannot / doesn't run away well enough from the Indian Shovelnose catfish attacks. Moved to hospital 300g. I don't expect it to survive this second move in quick succession but hope against the odds.
