I have been away from the forums lately due to extensive work with the spotted gar project this summer, including some of our experiments. i am currently making some of our juvenile spotted gars (species is verified, and these are NOT Florida gars) available for sale.
The dual purpose of this will be to allow for some spotted gar specimens to be made available to hobbyists, and for any funds generated from their sale to go directly back into the spotted gar project (maintaining the juveniles during the experiment as well as housing them).
at this point in time i have 10-15 fish available. individuals will be available for pick-up next week, those that need to be shipped will be shipped in the next 1-2 weeks. individuals will be fed well in the mean time to get them as large as possible by shipping time (likely around 6").
price on fish will be $45 each, not including shipping. pick-up is preferred. these fish are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you would like a fish, paypal the appropriate amount to E_americanus@hotmail.com (plus 3% to cover paypal charges) and i will hold your fish for you. shipping costs will be paid later.
again, these are young of the year spotted gars, species is verified and they are generally not available in the hobby, especially through LFS. PM/post/email me if you have any further questions.

I'd love to support what you guys are doing by buying a fish, but can't out here in Cali. Good luck on the research, and hope everything goes smoothly without any hiccups, red tape, or too many hurdles.
