.....and that nice tile background.I plan to do that on my next tank.

quality > quantity FTW :D wonder how long it will take for my IT ( at 21") to get to that size :D

To tell the truth it's hard to say how long it would take to get to this size

When I 1st got this fish he was 2 inch the body shape was not that feat and for the 1st 4-5 years he would only eat prawn and he reached about 13-15 inch

Then I stopped feeding prawn and just pellets he wouldn't eat the pellets for about 2 months but as that was the only thing I was feeding he had no choice but to start eating them

After about 6 months of pellets he grew a lot in size and mass and average length growth was over 3-4 inch per year

So pellets do make a big difference

I have 2 IT in my tank now 1 x 3 bar and 1 x traditional stripe I have had both for about a year now and both were 12 inch when they went in the tank the 3 bar will not eat pellets no matter what but I have not tryed that hard to tell the truth as I feed about 4 big handfuls of pellets a plate full of prawns and about 40 giant meal worms per feed

The 3 bar is now about 14 inch just eating prawns and the traditional IT that just eats pellets is close to 16 inch

Also my big ST had a massive growth Speer when he was put in a bigger tank I'm not saying he didn't get big in a 350 gal because he did but nothing like he is now and the 350 gal would be way to small if he was put back in it now

I was lucky with ST as I had a few that I brought like this one for £24 and others I brought and imported from Singapore at about 12 inch for £250 that was including all shipping costs and import tax so I got to pick the best of the best and what I classed as the perfect ST with full belt belly stripes and full neck band

This is also something I'm finding strange with the so called baby ?T nearly all of them have full neck band a full neck band in a IT is very comen but was a hard thing to find in ST when I was buying large or small ones

For me now a tiger is a tiger it doesn't matter to me T what and I would love this fish just as much even if it was a 3 bar IT it's just the fact that I have had him for 7 years that counts to me and not many people can say they have owned any tiger that long let alone any other type of fish

Now he has the tank he needed and I hope to have him for many years to come as he is the centre of my whole tank

What do you like about using mealworms as food?

wow i didnt know it was so large! I wish I could see this beast! How heavy you figure it is?

That's a Thames ST LOL

I am still not believing those VC/Cambodia ST. Teh fact that it came out about a year after the flood of baby IT it's too much of a coincidence..

Damn ... this is what we call true beauty of giant ST..... I think it is more worth to get giant ST then getting smaller ST at around 3" to 4" inch as the price of smaller size ST is not cheap around $400 to $700 - not sure. I make it average of getting true baby ST as $600 so why not just spend another $400 which is total $1000 for true ST? Also you might running the risk of false baby ST. So what is the reason you want to risk your money??? Just get the true giant ST - regarding the shipping for import case, this should handled by the expert who know how to ship the giant ST. The price ratio of small and big ST is too close compare to an IT. I can get a small IT price at around 35RM(around 10.3USD) compare to giant IT around 18" inch at 1500RM(around 500 USD). So why I buy giant IT? So the price ratio of small IT with giant IT is too much.

Since the diet of the Tiger is so import - I will start train my ST to take others
food like pallets, super worms, and market shrimps. I am not sure if my 18" inch ST
could be trained to eat pallet.....I really hope some day it will.

T1Ks' ST is super.
