well, as you all know i NEEDED money for my tuition and i would be in huge trouble if i didn't come up with the money, i tried selling in the classifieds for the past month or more and no one was willing to come through and buy any of my fish, i really would have rather had another MFK or WW hobbyist buy and own these fish for me, but unfortunately that was not the case. deadline was coming up so today i had to take desperate measures and trade them into the LFS for cash. the policy with this store is that they would offer %50 credit of what they sell the fish for (so if they sell the fish for $100, then they would give you $50 credit), and if you wanted CASH then you would only get %25 of what the fish is worth in cash. i had no choice, had nothing else of value to sell, so i boxed up most of my collection and took a 1 hour drive to the shop. basically i traded in 21 bichirs (inluding a koliba and ansorgii), the store owners and I agreed on prices for every fish and it added up to $1695, how much money did i get? $425, thats right, not even enough to pay for the ansorgii alone! but i knew what i was in for, and this is the ultimate sacrifice for me, im still down $330 but i hope i can look to my friends for a loan or somthing...

im so depressed, the only fish i have left is 1 delhezi, 2 senegal, 3 endlicheri (two of them are around 19'' ) and a tiny buetikoferi

anyway, i just wanted to say i really wanted my fellow MFK members to have these fish, i lowered the price many times, but i guess it just didnt happen, anyway, maybe ill collect polypterus again one day, when im rich (ultimately, that requires an education right?)
 
425?!?!?!?!?!?!? I looked at they buy sell thread, and you offered it to mfk for 1,700+ and accepted 425 at an lfs? Wow. You gave it less than a month first of all, and next if you pm'd a few vendors you could have gotten 1000+.....What were you thinking? When is tuition due? And the gifts are not worth getting rid of all those beauties. Sorry for being harsh but 425? No effing way....

dude, I am very sorry for that. I would have contributed but have my own tuition right now as well :(
 
i have less than a week, and this whole past month all i got was pages and pages of "if only i were closer" or "if only you were located in _____"
 
i made it clear that i was willing to ship too, and no, i wont be spending a cent on gifts, had i gotten the 1700 i asked for (which is still a steal), i would have happily taken 1000, but no

Yeah...That is not enough time. I am sorry it came down to that. And it is easy for me too sit here and say "you should have done_____". My bad, you did what you could and there were just no takers. Hope you graduate, become rich and re gain your coveted collection :)
 
just dont let this bump stop u from graduating. gotta look at whats more important, your future or your present pleasures
