Disaster waiting to happen . The fish is beautiful but it's sand you've placed them both in a tank together where one will die . It's irresponsible.
Bare tanks are also not suitable for channa.
Sorry I won't praise someone for doing the wrong thing. It'll only encourage more people to repete the same mistakes .I'm a firm believer you should keep fish properly or not at all.
Best of luck with whichever survives long term and I highly recommend adding some decore,substrate and floating cover

I believe this is his 3rd thread about snakehead and each time I suggested him to do right thing but he's keep buying more fish and none of them comparable with each other and his tank not even have right setup/ready for them yet!
Lol calm down. It hasn't even been two weeks since I brought in the tank and before a quick tank cycling was done. And like I said the pics were taken before the deco was started as I wanted to show the fish first.
Here are the pics taken after (not very clear) with the set up in progress.
I'll take a new pic where plants and thicker sand substrate have been added. I'll do further necessary changes in time. What I would like to point at however is to stop behaving like gossip girls of MFK as if what you see here is the be all end all fate of the tank setup and fish. Lol..
As for accusing me of being irresponsible and gambling etc, I am not. I have been keeping fish since I was a kid. I have also read about aggressive fishes and how to reduce aggression and what causes fish to be aggressive or most aggressive. For example how fishes are most aggressive towards those that look most similar to itself for obvious reasons.
I've seen pairs of (I'm sure you have too) channa barca turning against each other, micropeltes turning against each other (I grew up around Giant Snakeheads witnessing them being respected for their aggression) and other species of the same turning against each other unless if it's mostly a mating pair.
Surely aggression has also happened with snakeheads of mixed species.
I am not the first to attempt this experiment although that isn't why I do it. In fact the above choice is a more risky choice as they both are most aggressive with killer teeth, basically a Micropeltes (Diplogramma) and Argus unlike a Marulioides which is one of the least aggressive species.
From my experience so far I would say my mixed Snakehead species are calm towards each other after not making the Platinum appear a newly introduced tank mate where he is able to hold his ground and the Marulioides becoming the submissive one.
A simple basic step of reintroducing the fish and changing deco has changed their behaviour. If truly this is not working I can just separate them.

Sorry for the flames on you but we love our fish as much as you do 
so it's hard to keep thing down when we seeing something wrong hehehe
Good to see you getting your setup right for them (normally with snakehead species, folks would do their tank setup first cause plants take longer to grow and establish in new aquarium but you doing quite different)

I understand. No worries. I bought readily grown plants and planted them in the sand. Might change methods. Just testing some aquascape ideas. I like a clean look with more space to swim than a heavily densed crampy planted tank.
