That's all a Mantilla is...... A friggin generic name for naturally occuring hybrids. If they can't properly ID it, since it's a hybrid, it gets coined a "Mantilla".

From my understanding Mantilla is the guy that started importing them..... Since no one could ID them the term came to be used to describe them, named after the guy that started bringing them in.

There's another vendor bringing them in right now. They are WCs that look just like the captive breds......

My "Mantilla" = Henlei/Motoro. Traced back to the zoo that bred it.

i believe that it COULD be Henlei/Motoro becasue the one i got from Mike is turning blacker by the day. I have noticed that she is getting the belly spots like a henlei too. ( i will try to get some pictures of her belly soon)..
I am wondering about the description we are gettin as Marble/mantilla, is really just "mantilla".??? They all seem to look so different.. But if mantilla is Henlei/motoro then they should look simular and they don't seem to look simular to me at all.

Most Hybrid's we see leo/henlei and leo/pearl usually will all look simular, where the mantilla's don't.

You should have seen the pics of my "Mantilla"s siblings. Some looked like really high quality plain jane Motoros.... Mine wasn't a direct 50 50 cross. It was a Henlei/Motoro hybrid crossed back with a Motoro......

Once you get further and further down the line stuff gets very unpredictable looking. Hell siblings from the same litter all can vary a BUNCH whenever you start messing with hybrids. (or crossbreads if you want to be politically correct)

I'll have to dig. I don't remember if the previous owner emailed them to me or I dug them up in threads that were here before my time......
