Trying out new males

the male won't fit in that cave to fertilize the eggs when the time comes... just let your female bp rest for 2 weeks then try it again with your shortbody flowerhorn... Don't rush into breeding fh bro... it will only make you more impatient... :-)

Patience is the key... When they want to breed, they will... Just enjoy your fish for the time being and besides taking care of a couple hundred fry is very time consuming and takes a lot of work... :-)
 
If the time came to remove the barrier I was gonna remove the flowerpots so they would lay on either the flower pot bottom or the slate rock I put in the tank. If I didn't see any signs of a bond forming in a week or 2 I was gonna switch the males and leave them be.

Even if the flowerhorn won't breed with the parrot I still wanna find a nice larger one for him. Ones 5-6 inches and over are hard to come by.
