I've always had been a die-hard CA cichlid addict, but if there were any africans that I can say I've always been a fan of it's frontosas. well, I finally took the plunge and got 10 F1 Mpimbwe juvies. they're actually bigger than I expected at around 2.5" or so. I also got 10 daffodil brichardi that I'm keeping with them hoping a pair or 2 of the brichardi will spawn and provide some free food for the fronts down the road. they're currently in a 55 till they start getting too big for it at which time I'm going to transfer everything from this tank to a 150. in the background are my adonis pleco, L142 pleco and a couple of smallish (~2") syno. schoutedeni. :D

Where did you pick up the Mpimbwes from? All I can find around me is adult colonies and that is more money than I want to spend. Were they shipped to you?

actually I found them listed for sale on the GCAS (Greater Cincinnati Aquarium Society) website. there are a few frontosa breeders, and I found this guy who was selling these 10 F1 juvies, so I drove over yesterday and picked them up. :)

I know what you mean about "more money than I want to spend" though. I have to keep talking myself out of the auctions on aquabid from The fishery of louisville and fishcollectors selling wild trios of Mobas. :headbang2

mnruxpin, thanks for the comments. :grinyes: I was impressed by the color these guys had for only being 2.5" or so. I was also suprised that they were tearing up sinking pellets after only 10 minutes in the tank. their acclimation to the new tank took literally less than 5 minutes. :woot:
