keep them in the same tank with a separator. Once you see the female showing signs that she is ready to lay eggs you can try and take the separator out and see how things go. If he still is too rough with her you can always see if he will fertilize the eggs through the separator.

Hi. Jags (managuense) ? Males are rough and vicious. Be sure to remove the male right after the laying and fertilization of the eggs. Otherwise the male may kill the female.

Dont put them together they will kill each other if she has eggs in her she should lay them sometime soon all by her self.

i put in the separator last week and he still seems pretty aggressive towards her. every once in a while i 'll remove the separator and he will start like dancing around her for about 5-10 mins then he'll just start attacking her

1st of all congrats on the fry dude and 2nd dont use the seperator matey, dont take the male out, dont take her out, dont remove the fry, dont really do anything apart from frequent water changes (small 1nes) and feed mam and dad atleast twice a day, like a couple of blocks of bloodworms or some pellets and twice a day put small amounts of flakes and micro pellets in for the babys, follow the youtube link on my sig m8, i have breeding jags on there and i dont do a thing apart from what i just said :D

GREAT. Now you need to separate the fry from the parents and raise them in another tank. Start feeding brine shrimp and gradually shift to dry feed.

You dont need to seperate anything matey I dont know how much experience people have with breeding but IMO i think 'who jumps into the lake/river where they live in the wild ans seperates them? NO1 so just let nature take its course matey and whatever survives, survives. Like i said ive done nothing with mine just let them get on with it :D

You could use blood worms :D mine seemed ok with blood worms and crushed flakes.

Told u m8, u don really need to do anything, if they are in a tank alone the fry will thrive and the parents will look after them very well.

Keep it up dude ur doing fine, theres nothing to worry about ;)
