Hey MFK's,

Recently adopted this guy. About 4" in size. Pretty active with decent appetite. He was brought into my store because the original owner said he slaughtered all of his angel fish.

Upon visual examination at the store I did not observe any damage or trauma. Got him home and the following morning I noticed this patch.

First thoughts were between stress of capture, bagging, and transfer he injured himself and has come down with a fungus. First observation was tuesday. The lesion does not appear to be progressing very much if at all which leads me to believe it is not columnaris but a saprolegia type infection.

Ive been treating with Jungle Lifeguard for 3 days now. Temp is 80 with the addition of Seachem SA cichlid salt. Water changes done twice weekly at 50%.

If it's columnaris, its actually better to drop the temp to about 75. It's hard to tell if it is, the columnaris I've dealt with looks a bit more "slimy."
