Trying to feed Jack Dempsey with Oscars

i feed my oscars and jag with lots of floating and sinking pellets at one side of tank and my green terror/jack and severum at the other side with sinkers and floaters....it works...they worked this side thing out themselves

if he hasnt eaten for 1 week start dividing the tank so the jd can get his share if the sinking pellets dont work and you said he was smaller but how much smaller, also if nothink works get rid of the oscars hahaha jd rock

AH, you say you only got him. That could be a lot of the problem. Sometimes, new fish won't eat for a week or even longer. Takes time for some to settle in. Then they start eating. Try some flake. All fish recognize flake as food.

my dempsey started out the same way with my two oscars but he eventually started eating from the top once he got hungry enough

i have the same problem with mine and my jag she just doesn't like comeing to the top she eats alot of catfish pellets so i know shes hungry but i can't find a sinking cichlid pellet

ANYBODY know of sinking pellets that are good for cichlids and there color

My JD eats Tetramin Tablets whole and sinking algae wafers. It also took her some time to grab floating pellets. She isn't as graceful as the other fish, but she sure can splash the water!
