Trying to find a car...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
10 grand is more than enough money, it sounds like you are just being too picky( I completely understand), face it your not gonna get a crazy supra or sti , so go for something cheaper, you seem to like japanese and sporty. Nissan has several models that you may be interested in and they are in your budget. Hell,it's not really what you are looking for but I bought a 95 maxima for well under 10 grand and these things actually haul ass and have TONS of interior space for friends ect. Just for the record I drive in HORRENDOUS TRAFFIC daily and an automatic transmission can be a blessing!

Given your budget, I would look for a 96 or 97 Camaro Z28 or Pontiac Trans am. They are fast as hell, funner than they are fast, and sound wicked with an aftermarket exhaust. You should go for the six speed though, it doubles the fun factor. You can get convertable, but I would go for T-tops. You don't get all the wind noise, costs less, and looks better in my opinion.

The 95 model z28 beat all kind of cars in motor trends bang for the buck.

There are all kinds of go faster parts for these cars too.:headbang2

doesn't beat my 240sx when i put a Rb26 of a skyline engine in it.

It will cost me 6-8grand when i complete it.

Yah supra is def. expensive and way out of that price range. I dont think your gonna find anything like Supra or Sti for 10k and if you really wanted to push it on your limit there is a yellow Type R Integra 10th anny - champion edition for sale at 16k, not sure if its gone yet or not though (cuse that is cheap) and its manual. Anyways the easiest thing that is small, fast and in your price range to find here would be an EK or EG which is the Honda civic Hatch and there are a few decent Si's that are used for sale in your price range. The 3000gt is nice but your eventually gonna run into alot of mech. problems with it =) thats a car you wanna watch out for and have it checked up on before you buy it. I know camaros (sp) seem to big around here to maybe look at one of those?

i've seen several 90-96 nissan 300ZXs in your price range. twin turbos are pretty fast stock and can be made alot faster if wanted. but no backseat unless you get the 2+2, and i think those didnt have a turbo engine as an option, but not 100% sure on that. if you have to have 4 doors maximas are pretty fast, plus stillen makes tons of go fast parts if you wanted it to be even faster. and camaros and firebirds are getting cheaper. might be able to get one with an Ls1 in your price range, that would be sweet, but not alot of interior room.

I dont like firebirds or cameros, neither does my girl XD i'll look around and try and find something i like.

First off if you are looking for something fun and or fast to drive I would definately advise you to look into learning to drive a manual car. In my opinion a manual can make a non fast car at least fun to drive where as I don't see a point in driving a fast automatic. Like rally said you get to feel like your actually driving the car. I will continue to only drive manuals until I can add a second car to my collection.

How about an Integra GSR It is small quick and would be fun to drive. THe only one I found under 10K had about 100k miles on it but the cost of living where I am is outrageous so you could probably find something reasonable in your area. Honestly you are going to have a hard time finding something for less than 10 that is fast, looks good, and is reliable. Good Luck Bro...

On another note have you researched how much your car insuarance is going to cost? I don't think insurance companies take too kindly to 16 year olds driving around in "fast" cars.

LoL Rally @ the SRT Neon

Dude trust me painting your car is not really worth it to get a decent paint job thats not gonna look like **** I got an estimate when I got my car and they said with all the trim and decals and panels if any it can go upto 5,000 for a top tier paint job the lowest and cheapest which is 1 coat which I wouldnt recomend for a car will run upto 1,000-1,500

Im in the same boat as milkman right now. I either want a 4-wheel drive truck like a tacoma or colorado or a small sporty car. Ive made plans to buy a 2001 Integra GS-R in mint condition with only 39K miles for 12,500 but Its about a grand over blue book so I dont know....

I also just found an 02 Audi A4 1.8T with 56K miles for an asking price of 14,900. If I can get that down to 14000 I think Ill go with that but my mom thinks insurance will be higher then the integras. Would it? Im a 21yo male btw....

I cant seem to find any trucks... :(
