I'm trying to get my 4 inch jardini to eat sticks, but he won't touch them. I've been feeding him frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp for about 2 months. Is starving him for a day or 2 the only way to get him to eat sticks? I have the hikari sticks and would like very much for him to eat them.

You're gonna have to wait longer then 1 or 2 days before they will except pellets, more like 1-2 weeks. At only 4 inches, you might want to wait till he/she is a bit bigger before trying to force it to except pellets.

Does this apply to all species of arowanas?

Do you think a 9" aro is a good size to start pellet training?
The previous owner only fed crickets n meal worms..

I started at 4-5" and starved him for a week, stick to it. You get worried, feed him what he wants once, then starve again. He'll get the idea.

Just break the foodstick into smaller pieces and try again. Of course, once you start pellet training, give nothing but pellet. It will give in sooner or later depending on the fish if it's greedy.

Yeah I'm using spectrum pellets and the fei feng is eating it all up :irked:
The aro shows no interest in it but looks super hungry, always staring me down..

Is there anything I can do to increase it's appetite?
I want to win already.
