Trying to make a choice...

Ok, well I'm thinking I'll stick with the bocourti because it seems like the argentea would be too aggressive to have a good time breeding in that size tank. I really wouldn't want to have to keep such large fish in little divided sections. The bocourti seem to be the best choice for what I want because fro what I've read they aren't as aggressive. If plants will be eaten I'll just stick to driftwood and possibly fake plants. Any more suggestions are welcome.

I agree with Modest_Man. I think a lone male (or female) would be ok, but definitely not a pair. You would definitely need a minimum of a 6 ft. tank for a pair, even with a divider in a 75gallon, that's just not much swimming room at all for either fish.

Sounds good, I do actually have a 125 in the basement but I'm supposed to use that for my turtle, and I dont know about keeping fish with turtles, especialy not these fish haha. But, its been sitting down there for 2 years waiting for some space to open up... so you never know. Maybe I'll start the pair off in the 75 and move them into the 125 when they get too big. More advice welcome.

why nt put the turtle in the 75 either outdoors or in the basement and then put the 125 where you were planning on putting the 75?

or is 4' the max that will fit there?

yeah the 4 ft would be the max to fit in the given space.
