hahah so all this money i am wasting on fruit and veggies for my family is wasted? Does your friend reccomend throwing a big mac and fries in the tank for the plecos. Your friend should watch out for scurvy
Well I did read somewhere that they will eat rotten fruit. I'm not saying leave a banana in the sun for a week than throw it in your tank lmao

will you ask your friend if veggies and fruit are good for human consumption?
He was simply saying that I would be better sticking with the wafers because it has the type of algae they eat in the wild. Well, I have three different species in my tank and NONE of them want anything to do with the wafers. Hell, even my pike wont eat them.
they do eat fruits that fall into the rivers in the wild like wild melons and such.
Mine love watermelon rhine as well as all kinds of veggies like green peppers, squash, and zucinni.
