People still forget that it is not a right that we are allowed on fly on a plane... and until we own our own plane... we don't make the rules.

The only right we do have is to choose NOT to fly.

:iagree:

But some ppl can't choose not to fly because of work. And it is our right to fly

since when was someone forced to take a job that forced them to fly?

 it's your right? People feel so entitled these days. Granted, I don't like the idea of a patdown at the airport either, but I'd rather deal with that than some whackjob sneaking something on board that he shouldn't have.

Flying is NOT a right, neither is driving. You don't own the companies, or the planes, or the skies. If you don't like the terms and conditions of the service THEY are providing to YOU, you can opt out and take a road trip instead. In a developed country with law and order, sometimes you have to deal with rules and policies for the greater good of society, as dumb as they may seem. You can always try an undeveloped country. Mexico maybe? Look at their goverment. So powerless, they can't even keep their own citizens safe.

Well we also have other modes of public transpertation that one can choose to use, if flight is the most conveient then your choosing your convience over another mode of getting to where you need to go. Yeah you have a right to get on an airplane and pay for the ticket... you dont have the right to make the rules unless you own the airport and airplane.... thats imo.

I agree I rather be patted down even if I dont like it (which I dont) then have some crazy on my plane with an alligator or gun or bomob or whatever else some person might feel like bringing on the plane that day.

And why doesn't anybody complain about driving? You own the car, so why can't you drive according to your own rules? If you get your license suspended, you can't even drive!!! Even though you own the car. Crazy isn't it? They tell you how fast you can go, what you can and can't do while driving, and they even force you to wear a seat belt.

Why? I own the car. I should be able to do as I please, right? :screwy:

Their service, their rules. You have to obey the rules of whoever is providing the service; resaurants, movie theaters, hotels, bars, clubs, concerts, state and national parks, roads, etc. This isn't the wild wild west anymore. We are a society of laws and rules.

,i'm not saying the way TSA handled this guy was appropriate once he wanted to leave (they told him he couldn't leave til he went through the scan or got patted down, wtf)...but clearly this guy came into the airport with confrontation on his mind. Why else do you turn on your cell phone before it even occurs that something could go wrong?

if you don't like TSA's security measure, then make your voice heard. Boycott flying, talk to the media, write to the companies. don't go into the airport and be a douche and pretend you have the right to bypass whatever rules and procedures you chose just because you paid for a ticket

Yeah I'm sure he had an idea of how it was going to play out in his mind. The part I missed though, did he get pulled out of line to be patted down? Why didn't he go through the scanner?
