so I was trying to train my tsn onto dead foods...since he Only ate live fish...and any pellets i ever tried to feed him went to waste...so I starved him for a bit, popped in some smelt, he didnt eat it...no surprise there..he didnt even give it a wiff...he just swims away in fear...how wierd is that? the same happens with shelled prawns..th moment he realizes its smelt/shrimp he swims to the opposite side of the tank and tries to swim away...but when his nose bumps the glass...he doesnt stop...he nudges it for a few minutes as if its going to move...

srlsy what is wrong with this thing?:nilly:

ps, i feed him like every day..so dont say im starving him 2 death..

well...i think our fish are related...or maybe they were in the same "school"....haha....puns are corny..i know....

How big is he? Some tsn won't eat prepared food's till they are larger.

hes about 14 inches now...

Try earthworms. When he starts eating those mix the worms with the frozen smelt/shrimp. Mix them up to get the worm flavor on the frozen.

At some point, he"ll hit the worm and get a chunk of frozen in his mouth at the same time. He"ll then eat frozen. This will work with pellets too.

All of my cats and rays are on massivore using that technique.

im not 100% sure if he's eating the beefheart, but i just starved my 3.5" for about 2-3 days and he's eating flakes, i put some beefheart in at bed time and let that sit in the tank. he's fat and happy an that makes me happy. this may not help you at all, but my succes might share a little light on a mystery in need of an answer... now im rambling LOL
