So I got home and I moved him up to a 20L added the jungle fungus med that was suggested and a bubble strip. He seems disoriented, but still strong, he kicked a lot and strongly in the net. I am a little concerned, because now he is gasping largely in the new tank. I would compare it to coughing.

coughing... interesting ...

it could be just the stress of being moved... it's gone from a large tank to a small one there is obviously going to be good aeration in the tank since you have the bubble strip in there with him...

perhaps he's Claustrophobic...:ROFL::grinno:

Alive is good... it's better that he's on his side than his back... Mine after the beating seemed fine for a few days after then was doing the flipping over on his back for around 4 or 5 days before staying on his side for almost 2 weeks before going back to "normal" his fins are still healing and he just started eating normally again ... Hope yours is following a similar path to recovery

Good luck man, this seems like an extremly stressfull drawnout ordeal!

Update, he's still hanging in there, he was thrashing around a bit last night. I added some coppersafe, since he has some red sores on his face. On a positive note he was upright this morning.

Cograts. Seems like a big improvement. I have been watching the thread and cheering on your cat. Sorry but i could not offer any suggestion because i am familiar with your type of kittie.

I recently had a problem with Tigrinus not eating, not swiming upside down though, I have a feeling mine had an internal parisite, and I would guess thats your problem as well.
