Ok, so here's the deal- I have a TSN that only gets a meal about once a week because his tankmates out compete him, even after they have already been fed. I feed the tank, then wait about 20 mins, shut the lights off, then after about 30 mins of darkness attempt to get food to the cat. More often than not the oscars and bass eat the food before it makes it down to him. I had a brainstorm to use a length of pvc to attempt to drop the pellets right in front of him. This technique gets him his weekly meal, but the other fish have caught on quicker than the tsn to the fact that the pipe means food. Anyone out there have another solution for me to try? The tsn's belly is never sunken in, i'd just feel more comfortable if he got another meal or 2 during the week. Thanks!!

His tankmates' mouths can hold only so much food. If you threw in all the food at once, would the TSN get enough then?

I have exactly the same problem with my AUL and my Niger cat. I just keep putting food in till the niger is full then the AUL gets his. My Niger cat is easily 20 pounds now LOL.

Lol. I can't wait to see how big the oscars and bass get now with larger feedings. I might need to invest in a new gravel vac too--I'm scared of the amount of poop I'm about to deal with!

Goes without saying but be sure your bio-filter can handle the increased feeding and some more (good safety margin). If I was unsure, I'd increase incrementally and tested water frequently.
