TSN feeding question

Goes without saying but be sure your bio-filter can handle the increased feeding and some more (good safety margin). If I was unsure, I'd increase incrementally and tested water frequently.

+1

The best investment I made to my fish keeping sanity is a trickle system. Definitely pay attention to water quality. The bonus to well fed fish is lowered aggression. All my fish are fat and happy, just like me :)

I was just thinking about that. I think I'm going to make a moving bed filter and let that get established before I increase the feedings just to be safe.

Sounds prudent.

Just to be clear though, I was not suggesting to bump up the feeding per se. I was wondering if you threw in all the food of the day at once, would the TSN get his share.

Just distract the pbass and oscars while you feed the TSN on the other side of the tank. That's how most sturgeon keepers do it.

I too use a piece of clear PVC for my smaller RTC's and TSN's. Also like Chub_by said I drop pellets on the opposite side of the tank as the RTC and TSN and then immediately send pellets down the tube. I too turn the light out on the side of the tank where the RTC and TSN is 5 minutes before feeding. My RTC is pretty shy so it takes a few minutes for him to come out of hiding.
