TSN feeding routine??

Hi everyone,

I just got my TSN a few days ago. he is lovely but i have a problem.

i'm trying to introduce a feeding routine for my TSN but he is always hiding in the caves so he doesnt eat the feeders until the night when everything is dark.


the reason why i want to encourage a feeding routine for him because i have 2 peacock bass, one spotted gar fish and one albino bichir all the same sizes living together with him and i dont want them to snatch all the feeders away from him.

btw im using a two feet arcylic aquarium tank.

please help thanks!

They generaly only feed when its dark, introduce food at night,

Blimey, didnt notice it was a 2 foot tank.

Hope you are just growing it on for a few weeks.

Same with the bass and gar.

He will eat when he settles in. Like said, that tank is way to small. If/when he gets bigger your other stock will disapear.

And when he says "Spotted gar fish..." Makes me think he is a newbie and knows NOTHING about fish keeping. Hopefully he either has a large tank or takes the fish back to the store.

Ok besides the fact that you will need more room, what I do with my tsn is use frozen silversides and place a couple right under his nose. It may take him a week to settle in but he willeat. Also live feeders can carry disease to your tank so it is best to get all your fish off them asap, or setup a second tank and quarantine them a couple weeks then feed.

it really says spotted gar fish at the aquarium shop but if u insist then I have a Lepisosteus oculatus.
