definitely a genetic trait. I have three. Two are perfectly straight the other is way deformed I know you have all seen him in my catfish bonanza thread. A lot of them are also missing pelvic fins like mine and several others I have seen. I have noticed the deformity in two spots. One is behind the head in the atlas axis region of the spine, and the other is in the cranium towards the premaxillae. I'd say inbreeding in fish farms or they are selling us their culls.

Thats why i said bad genes i was reffering to the limited # of gene pools they have.
