So I have him in a 135 grower... been feeding once everyother day since he was around 10 inch or so... he is now around 20 or so... but i come home from bowling today and find that i am missing 1 of the 2 PH and ammiona alerts i have in the tank... the ammiona is still there and the PH is gone... i also have a 22 in aro that had a go at these when i first put them in there but doesn't mind them at all.. i can kinda see it in his belly but not a 100% sure... but i'm 99% sure it's there... i have a pic of the alert tab... any advice... should i try to get it out or just hope he throws it up... i really really like this guy... my gut tells me to let him throw it up... but cuz of the shape i don't know if he can and i think i would cause more damage then doing any good if i tell myself... this sucks cuz i have a feeling it's going to end badly... any suggestion?

Another question should I continue feeding and hope for the best or stop feeding for a week or so and see if he throws it up?

Hey i read thru your issue. There is nothing you can do. You have to wait to see if he either digests it / throws it up. I would not feed him for a few days as he is probly having some real bad GI problems. how big is the TSN? what is his normal diet?

He is around 20 to 21 inch.... feed tilapia shrimp scallops and night crawlers.... some mp pellets here and there when he takes them....

Things like this happen in the wild is all i can say. This is not the first time a catfish has eaten something plastic, or a rock, or something of the sort. It is really just a waiting game to see if it passes. odds are pretty good it will take care of itsself. I understand your concern but all you can really do is offer him food within the next few days and see if he takes. if he takes than it should be fine. I really hope everything turns out alright as i think it will.

cheers

Yea I know it happens especially with RTC and TSN... if it was a rock I wouldn't be worried.... but the shape of the plastic has me concerned... sometimes he shakes his head and act like he is trying to get it out but then gives up... he has eaten since it went missing so that's a plus maybe he will just live with it there... but fingers crossed it will come out without causing internal damage... thanks for your input just wanted someone else's opinion other than mine....

had the same problem with my TSN eating his thermometer, Saw it in his stomach and just waited it out. Next morning I saw it on the bottom of the tank. All I can say is just hope for the best.

Only good thing I can say is he isn't acting weird or stressed... breathing normal and acting the same so waiting game begins...

i have seen my passed tsns eat suction cups amoungst other things. it will vomit it up. when it does you will need to do several water changes to get all the vomit out of the water. nothing worsens water quality worse then fish vomit.
