TSN off feeders??

necro has a way with catfish i suppose lol
my TSN though they are just 7"+ are very very unfriendly
all they do is sit in a corner during the day
and hunt at night, catch a fish and then go back to the corner

i feed my TSN a diet of smelt or silversides thawed and chopped, shrimp, prawns, he even took chicken once. The plus is that its all cheap and available from local grocery stores. Sinking carnivore pellets will work too but damn expensive and a varied diet is better. Try starving it a bit and just throw enough hunks of meat in there so that he has the opportunity to get one while the RTC's are preoccupied. Once it eats one you're smooth sailin, keep in mind TSN's will stuff themselves (nearly) as much as RTC's.
Also, I've never heard of a TSN that readily intereacts with its owners or comes to the surface. I wouldnt count on yours ever doing it.

Thats all that TSN's do in tanks generally. They need a big sturdy cave or driftwood to hide from the light under. Also they are ambush predators, not terribly exciting or motivated unless in pursuing live prey. Their vision in light is also poor.

my tsn will only eat feeders and i starved him for 2 weeks and was tossing in silversides carnivore pellets and frozen krill to no avail so i gave in and just stuck with feeders
