TSN tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm on bottom floor and have the ok so no worries there. That would be a really bad idea being on the second floor.

Just beause many cant personally house them doesnt mean there not suitable for home aquaria. i agree its best to turn most people away but some of us out there have plenty space for a 24-30" cat. Theres far bigger and faster growing sp. available to us all :) . Pools/ponds can be had for $100 or less...very attainable if someone really wants to keep something big. 90% of available tsn are runts from food production also. no biggie in my book. theyd be destined for someones dinner table neway.

My friend, you are one of the few that have the space and knowledge for these large catfish. I am well aware of your beautiful Silurus glanis :) but there are few that can care for these fish. I just hate to see the large catfish stuffed into small tanks. If people stop purchasing in fish stores, the market would go down and only the experienced would be able to have them. I think that is how it should be imo :)

Question why would you say then only experienced people would have them? The other person you was talking about maybe the most experienced person in the world with fish and you may also be but your statement is way off. even the most experienced person in the world was once the most un experienced person at one time or the other. So why would you say that?

i appreciate the kind words...as the o.p. said, even the best didnt get there overnight but i do agree with where ur comin from also. Sadly i think the industry is pretty much in full collapse already :/ . Were not far off from no lfs at all and that hurts just as much as neubs stashin monsters in 20gals... Imo nobody wins in the end. If theres no new interest in fish in general theres no industry at all. Ive seen alot happen in my lifetime of fish keeping. Kinda sad to think theres no stores around to inspire/excite newcomers as there was 10yrs ago or when i was a kid walkin to my lfs. If the market keeps dying, so do all our suppliers and thats terrible in my eyes. Only the rich would be left in the hobby to import themselves and thatd mean im out aswell unless i went 2 collecting my own native monsters lol... hard not 2 shut everyone down i agree, theyll keep the hobby going for us tho :).

There's no LFS here besides petco besides a few salt water places but that's about it.
