I don't think its from the tank. It may just be a defect, but I hope for your sake it heals.

the fish is fine. it will be like that for life but shouldnt affect him a whole lot. if he has aggressive tank mates you'll prolly have to hand feed him, but thats fun to do lol.

he does have aggressive tank mates, but i feed them alot. i try hand feeding him, he took it once, then the second time i went for it he took a lap around the tank, and spit the peice of talapia i just gave him up, then ate it again once everything calmed down.
