There's at least part of your problem. 2 months is a long time.
 
I would say that if your feeding is fairly heavy then you might need to do more water changes. What are your nitrates usually at before you do a water change?
 
If he's feeding them a "high protein" diet, he needs to do more water changes. Crap builds in water if its very dirty every if his nitrates are low.
I guess more specifically, he probably needs to gravel vac more often and clean the filters more often. If all that uneaten food is just left in the tank you might up with some bad water.

Ive only used the test strips. Gonna buy a full test kit on friday. Right now im treating the tank woth api furan-2. Had my friend come over to check out my fish last night he said it looks like fin rot my jardini has it too. So im actually treating my whole tank.
 
I would say you should try to move the TSN into a smaller tank and keep up with a 50% water change everyday and see if that helps. Something isn't right in the tank that it's in and is causing it harm.
