The silversides smelled like fish... so i think they would be ok i keep them frozen and just break off chunks. I guess I could bump the W/C schedule I do a 50% weekly. I will do another one tomarrow as it is now 11:12 my time...

Hmmmm, my RTC only slows down eating during the winter (slight drop in temp). but you have a heater... very weird, Do you recon it could be something internal? Parasites?
My RTC x TSN will fast sometimes for up to 3 months at a time. All params check, and tank maintenance goes on normal. He gets a little skinny, but then starts eating like crazy again. I think it's due to winter as suggested above, but his water does drop to around 72 F though, and being very large he can go for probably a year without eating. The smaller they are the less amount of time you'd like them to go without eating. Sometimes changing up their diets will bring them out of it. Usually with my big guy if he stops eating shrimp and fish, I'll throw in a hotdog and he'll eat a small piece and then over the next week or so he'll start eating everything else again.
I agree 40ppm is kind of high on Nitrates, that is the MAX I'd ever want to see one of my FW tanks at, I'd do a water change ASAP if mine ever read that high. What is the PH & Ammonia?
