I know that alot of members have probably heard about the horrific accident at silver lake last saturday. The mans name who passed away was Edward Meadows. Some of you may have not known Ed. I know that about 20+ E2S members did. They may not know him by Edward Meadows.. But they know him as LTZ450 Ed from the 06 silver lake trip.. I had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with Ed and his friends Joe (joe rock) and Christy (joes wife). I'm not 100% sure if Ed was a member at e2s or not.. Even if he wasn't a memeber here.. he was a friend of e2s... a friend that we missed on the may and august trips this year.. That being said i think it's appropraite that we keep his family in our prayers.... I'll copy and paste some information collected from other sites... about Ed and the young family he left behind. Also i have included a few pics of Ed at the 06 sep. e2s trip.

----JOE BOOMGAARD - DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

An Ohio man died as the result of a Saturday accident at Silver Lake State Park.

Edward Meadows, 33, of Ravenna, Ohio and Robert Johnson, 33, of Peotone, Ill. were seriously injured. Both parties were airlifted to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Meadows later died Monday from the injuries sustained in the accident. As of Tuesday morning, Johnson was listed in serious condition.

It appears to investigators and witnesses at the scene that the ATV driven by Meadows turned left into the path of the dirt bike driven by Johnson.

Both parties involved were wearing helmets and it is not believed that alcohol was a factor. The crash remains under investigation.

Chris...appreciate the post for Ed...that was a very nice guesture.

To all those who have responded...I really appreciate your comments, prayers, & thoughts for Ed. Ed was a true friend and will be dearly missed... thanks so much for the comments, I will be sure to pass them onto the family.

Ed’s accident occurred at 6pm Saturday, September 1st, 2007. Ed passed 48 hrs later at 6pm Monday, September 3rd, 2007. Ed leaves behind his immediate family, Darcy his wife of almost 10 years, daughter Lauren 3 yrs of age, and unborn child due in approx 4-5 months.

This tragic event has really affected my way of life, it just seems so unbelievable. Ed, Christy and I left for the Dunes this past weekend with just Christy and me returning home. Very hard to look in my rearview mirror and not see Ed in the backseat, but seeing his quads on the trailer behind us. Even Ed’s truck was in my drive when we got home and you really don’t think about an event like this when you leave for the weekend. Truly unbelievable!

Here are a few pics of Ed, taken the day of his accident. Ed was having such a great day, his LTR450 was very lonely as he was riding his new Hybrid for most of the day.

From left to right...Christy, Dave, Ed
