Tub Enclosure

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just go to any hardware store and ask. They are forr holding 2 peices of wood tod=gether while glue dries. :)

The enclosure looks like a temporary setup to me too. I'm pretty sure it's not their permanant home, but you could definately set up a nice enclosure in a trough like that. There are many people who keep/breed monitors in these setups. You can get these galvanized steel cattle troughs for cheap too.

I would suggest staying away from the steel mesh type tops. They don't hold any humidity in at all, and can be dangerous to the monitors if they are climbing on them if you keep your heat lamps on top of them. The metal below the lights gets REAL hot and can cause severe burns. I would suggest building something more like this...

BTW... nice looking monitor

Yeah, I've lurked on kingsnake for a few years now. There are some guys on there that really know their stuff, but a lot of the time they tend not to help out much. BTW, here's a website that sells the galvanized steel tubs like the one in the picture...

I would stick with a steel one like that instead of a rubbermaid/plastic one. I think it would hold up better in the long run since monitors can be real destructive with their nails.

Did anyone notice that the enclosure was almost filled to the top with water? Kind of odd. Even for a water monitor.

Yeah... that's why I think it is only temporary. Some sort of training enclosure.
