I think the FH craze has something to do with that. Here in NYC Trimac are looked upon as low grade FH no matter how hard you try to explain the difference. Quite frustrating.

Yeah, funny thing isw alot of people getting in are getting out. In Sanfrancisco at Aquatic Central was tellling me all the problems he was having with flowerhorns having health problems due to inbreeding. Told me how people were getting out as fast as they were getting in. Sadest part, is this FH whom is Famous online is not as gourgous as he used to be. when I saw him acouple weeks ago, he was recovering from HITH and had lost most of his color. It was a shame. Guy who bought him put him in with larger, more agressive fish and didn't take care of him. He had him up for $450, but I honestly don't see him getting $100 for the shape it is now.

thanks everyone for the comments. when i first got them i posted them on here and alot of ppl were calling them low grade flowerhorns. its sad that the flowerhorns have caused these to fade away at LFS. i couldnt find any locally and was told by alot os LFS "trimacs are the poor mans flowerhorn". i plan on trying to sell these locally but i know alot of LFS probably wont take them. i might have to sell them online.

Nice pics! Great thread. I love trimacs!!!

so many cichlids and so few tanks. so many species I'd like to keep but just don't currently have the room for. I'd LOVE another jumbo TUIC male trimac like the one I used to have.

Seriously, awesome pair and truly fantastic series of pics. very nice :)

he's only aggressive when i pull the fry out. i have to use a divider until she's ready to breed again otherwise he might kill her. but while the fry are there they get along fine.
