He is a Chilean Rose-haired Tarantula, and yes he is very friendly. In fact I hold him often and I've never been bit. For now lol. Thanks for the comments everyone!

I've had my Mexican red knees for about 3 years, and I finally got to see one molt last week.

Thanks for the comment aquaman Ya in the wild they hide in burrows and right before they shed they make a protective wall of silk. Mine just made his on the ground I guess! Its hard to tell from the pic but he is actualy on top of his rock cave I built him.
Why he molted on it rather than in it is beyond me! lol but It made for a great photo opp!
