the Office living in the now...
Hey all, just wondering if it would be a good idea if I shut off my heaters since spring is here and the temp of my house is constantly 71 degrees or warmer. Would these tanks be around my room temp? In theory it should shouldn't it?

Thought I should throw this out to see what you guys think cause this would save me some $.

Just unplugged my heaters for my turtle tanks, Rhom tank, and my ornate tank. I left my community tanks heater on still.

Hit me.

The lights will also contribute to warming the water, but AFAIK Rhoms need much warmer water.

well they technically do Pull energy just from being plugged in though

The water will be cooler than room temp if there is good surface agitation. The act of evaporation cools the tank. You could just put heaters on a simple timer so they only power up at night. Some fishes have trouble digesting food below a certain temp. You may find fish that refuse food if they feel like winter is coming.
