Hey guys!
I have a 20 ft. by 6 ft. pond which is about 3.2 ft deep with about 10 2' koi's in it. As a novice fishkeeper, these koi are the first fish I've ever had in my life. Heres the problem, in my pond I use a OASE Fitoclear 3000, the filter located at the bottom of the pond sucks the water into an external filter and is then outputted back out and down a waterfall. The waterfall is about 3ft off the ground, and makes quite a lot of noise. I love the sound of it, but my naggy neighbours can't stand it. Will it be okay if I buy a timer that turns off the filter every night and turns it back on in the morning. Thats about 7 hours of being turned off. The pond houses some lillies as well. Will turning the filtoclear off for that long kill my fish, or is it fine? Also the waterfall hitting the pond is the only source of oxygen for the pong, will the water be depelted of oxygen?
Will having a couple of air stones at night be enough to keep these koi's alive?
Thanks a tonne
