Turtle and larger cichlids...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ok thanks yeah that what i thought was that they were faster growing than that, i will def pass on it, i mean i def want one eventually but not until im some where more permanent with a big yard, but what do you think about the RES? what are there growth rates? and will they still mess with fish as big or bigger than they are or will they leave them alone

apparently the guy with the sulcata has already had the poor thing for 3yrs and its only grown an inch, so i doubt its been getting all the nutrition it needs, but he said he also has some RES, yellow bellys and river cooters so im having him send me some pics of them...

Thats not true they will reach max size in 5-10 years(14in in 3-4 years) so he is wrong. In my opinion sulcata torts are one of the hardest animals people try to keep. Its a turtle that can run you over run through chain link fences and wooden pens. I not sure about food cost but they eat alot I know a lady with one who loved pumpkins she would collect and few dozen for him to eat after halloween.
Oh yea sulcata eat ALOT:WHOA: A guy here that has a few colects stuff free from several supermarkets for them to eat

Mine grow like weeds...
if i got one not much bigger than hatchling size how long could i keep it in a 20g long (tank is 30in by 12in) before placing it in the 120?

Like 2 to 3 and half years depending on its growth rate. If you got a adult male you would know for shure it wouldnt get bigger wille a female can top at 12 inch

I could keep it in the 20g for 2 years?! sorry im still used to cichlid growth lol so they grow that slow? (though i guess fast for turtles?) i def wouldnt need to keep it in the 20g for longer than 8mnths though
