Isnt it dumb buying one, when you know that they are illegaly imported, and endangered in the wild? If your buying them, they will bring more in.
 
I'm not sure if "dumb" is the best word to use but people are going to try to buy whatever they want if it happens to be available to them,regardless of an animal's status in the wild.Sad....maybe but whichever turtles that are already here can be bought as I understand it and most of those have been passed around to different hobbyists..which kind of leaves it up to the authorities in the country of origin to crack down on the poachers and establish some kind of breeding program in order to help ensure the future of the FRT.
