Hi guys,

There are two of these (~5") for sale in my neck of the woods.. (For about 50 USD before haggling)

The seller is calling them "Malaysian Turtles".. I am pretty sure that's not a correct name.

Can you guys ID these?

those are turtles for sure ;)

I believe they are Indian roofed turtles, Pangshura tecta (formerly Kachuga tecta). Beautiful animals!

Actually, the first and third are Pangshura tentoria circumdata, the pink-ringed tent turtle. The pink ring around the carapace between the plueral and marginal scutes tells the tale. The second is, in fact, a Pangshura tecta, the Indian Roofed Turtle. The post-orbital mark and thickness/number of the stripes on the neck make it so.

Thank you for the ID!

As these are native to India, they are probably illegal to own in India... (as all native Indian turtles are classified as "protected").

So, thank you very much for the ID... :)
