Was curious as to a few peoples opinions about a turtle. I am looking to possibly change one of my tank setups to allow for the addition of a turtle. I am looking for one that will stay relatively small and not get big on me. also one that may do a little better with some fish mates than others. I currently have tanks ranging from 10 all the way up to 75, and plan on adding more. What turtles if any might fit this bill?

umm, My gf found a turtle and gave me it. It only gets 5" and is called a mud slider ( i think, Cant really remember) Check my thread in the reptile section it has picks. Not sure how well it does with fish though.

all mud/musk tutrles are carnivores, but must stay small and make good pets.

Messiner, Will my turt eat pellets or do i have to feed him guppies than?

you could prob get him on pellets

He eats them when their soggy and sink :) lol.
But I dont feel like its good enough for him

But i was thinking of a nice schoal of like 6 cardinals in with him but nvm :(

Pellets should consist of 50% of their diet. The rest of any turltes food should be naturel stuff.

4-6" is about the smallest turtle?
I'm fairly new to turtles, but would like to setup a 15 or 20 gallon for one.

so are mud slidders common to find? and howmuch to they normally cost? This appears to be the only one that stays relatively small and not super agressive towards fish?
