Any aquatic turtle is potentially a salmonella vector. But if you keep up with water changes and practice basic precautions (wash hands after putting them in tank or on turtle, etc.) it shouldn't be an issue.

Just was throughly after n before touchin them or anythin in the tank!

A wise turtle keeper once told me that the only turtles that get salmonella are the ones that are kept in unfiltered water and fed cold hot dogs.

While all aquatic turtles run the risk of salmonella, if you wash/sanitize your hands after touching them and take care of them well, there is very little chance of them getting salmonella.

Get the smallest one you can. Maybe a musk or somthing. They are incredible pets, but are labor intensive and require alot of tank/pond/stock tank.
