hello i was really thinking about getting a turtle. does anyone know all the stuff i would need and how to set up a nice little home i would like to keep fish/snakes or some other animals with him maybe some crayfish or crabs i know he may eat other animals but any help?

I keep a male Florida Cooter and a Male Missisipi Map turtle outside. If you don't want to have to set up a large tank consider a male map turtle.

I got both same month a yr ago and my map is half the size of my cooter (both eat as much as they want). Male maps just stay small and might be what your looking for.

I don't sell them lol so not pushing male maps but just find them "mini" turtles considering how big most semi aquatic turtles get.

I have a mata mata turtle that i keep with some larger fish. Anything that is too big to fit inside its mouth is safe from being bothered.

No problems ever between your mud/musk turtles like biting, etc?

Nope, they get along together just fine. I have never seen them nip each other. The only time I ever saw any nipping was when I first added the female musk to my male musk's tank. He nipped her feet the first 1/2 hour but after that, never again.

The Mud is a little more food aggressive than the Musk (as you can tell in the photo) and will try to eat as many floating pellets as it can but I make sure everyone gets an equal share.
