changed the filtration to a larger tote with 2 300gph powerheads pushing water out of the bottom of the filter. Water enters through holes near top of bucket and passes through a prefilter sponge, filter fiber sheets, and bio balls at the bottom, I put mesh trays stacked in the filter to allow easy seperation of media and protection of the powerheads at the bottom.
Just recieved 4 adult RES, 1 Yellow Belly Slider, and 1 african sideneck that had all been housed together in an approximately 90gallon tank... I will be creating a new habitat for the sideneck seperately from the sliders this weekend.
I had a very hard time getting pics of the turtles, as they had decied that the best place to be was wedged as hard as they could be underneath the overhang of rocks near the basking spot. I'll post more as the turtles come out and get more adventurous.

where did you get the drum? IF you don't mind me asking....I kinda want to try and copy this

The big metal stock tank was from a craigslist ad, but feed stores carry them frequently. The filter bucket is just a rubbermaid container I picked up at walmart.

Looks pretty nice! Good luck with that water hyacinth. I've found it does awful indoors unless you have really strong lighting. A better alternative would be water lettuce which turtles love to eat as well.
