coo coo, some decent sounding ideas should I decide to switch it up

I've kept Musk and Painted turtles on bare bottom tanks with large rocks for climbing on and living, floating Anachris for cover. Bare bottom tanks are very easy to keep clean.

I used to have a bunch of rocks and stuff in my tank, but if I didnt take them out and clean them everyday, crap would get stuck under them and make the water get nasty, so I removed them and now just have barebottom with a big cinder block as a land area. My turtles happy, and my waters clean.

The bad thing about using cinder blocks is that they are very rough against a turtles shell and after a while of rubbing against this, they could develope an infection.

Normally, from what I see when he gets on and off of it, he raises himself up about an inch of the ground, so I havent noticed him dragging himself on it. I check the bottom of his shell evryday just incase though.

I also notice, when I take him outside, he never touches the ground with his shell unless he's resting, but when walking he raises himself up REALLY high and can walk quite fast. I remember the first time I took him out in the yard he "Ran" all the way across it.
