a guy a know tried it for awhile (turtle with P's). that didnt work out well at all. the P's started nipping at the turt's legs and hurting him. the turt would def be the one getting hurt in this equation.

when my ps get hungry they eat each other. if they got hungry and there was a turt around, they would attack him. but if the turt hides in his shell, the ps will just have to eat fins.

if your P's get so hungry the eat eachother then you probably dont feed enough. and turtle wouldnt be completely in its shell... it would be easy for the p's to get the turtle, on the other hand it probably wont be too hard for the turtle to get the P's. and this is all dependin on wich turtle you would want to try this with. i have not herd of tankmates ever being succesfull long term with p's and turtles generaly dont get along with fish as well mostly deciding on what turtle you you get. i have succesfully kept turtles with fish and have seen others do the same, but with P's one or all will die! if you are still considering putting them together its a childish move and will end up fatal

well, actually i just figure as much as i have seen them eat each other's fins when they get pissed off by high nitrate levels. and the guy who had them before me said many were lost to cannabalism, 19 of the original group of 40. i think they cannabalized each other because they weren't getting enough food. he did say he "couldn't take care of them properly" and that he fed them two chicken legs per day. though that sounds like it might be enough food for all, some probably couldn't get a share and some probably didn't get enough. on top of this, there were fourty fishes in a 120 gallons tank, et cetera.

i don't know if childish is the correct word to describe such an eperiment. but, i have decided against attempting such, at least for the time being. i would rather try to create a cohabitation with a pleco. i did have a pleco who lasted a few weeks with my ps. i am also considering danios. I would put a nice little milk crate in the tank for them to find shelter in and for them to breed in. and this addition would be great entertainment for the piranhas.

I have a turtle that I guarantee won't eat your P's and your P's won't eat it.. ....and if you plug in an air hose, bubbles come out his nose! ;)
