I dont find catfish as a major fighting fish bass, bat rays, and carp ut u way more of a fight. I catch alot of cats by accident when im fihsing for carp and I'ce had a double hook up with a carp and a catfish the carp being 5 pounds the catfish being 7 ounds and the carp fought alot harder. Reelign in the catfish was like reeling in a trash can.

Who ever said cat fishing is easy or don't fight or not fun is just crazy. Catfish are some of the hardest fighting fish strength wise out there. Catching a monster catfish is no easy task now it may be easy to catch small catfish but its also easy to catch small sunfish species like bass and bluegills. Catching monster 30+ pound catfish with rod and reel takes skill and know how. I fish with bait casters with clickers, nothing sends adrenaline to your system like the sound of that clicker taking off in the middle of the night. This is why I love tip-up fishing so much, siting there fishing then look to see your flag up. You never know if the next fish is going to take a few mins to land or a half hour plus.
As far as noodling goes I don't like it. But people think its dumb to ice fish so to eats ones own.

Far as fighting, catfish are a blast but for me they dont offer a challange far as catching them.
I dont in any shape form or fashion like catfish. I dont catch them much(thank god) but for some reason ever year in the fall feed, A channel cat wants to eat my SPINNER-BAIT. I hate them so much I dont even touch them. I just get my hook out and kick them back in the water and if im in the boat they get the pilers treatment!!
